A proud handover, a powerful beginning – MV Elise joins our fleet

After years of planning, development and anticipation, we are proud to finally welcome the MV Elise to our fleet. Built at Weihai Shipyard in China with around 7,600 tons of steel, she marks a major step forward in our mission to set new standards in heavy lift shipping – smarter, greener and more powerful than ever before.

Equipped with two fully electric Liebherr LS 800 E cranes, MV Elise combines strength, speed and safety with impressive outreach and lifting height. Her box-shaped cargo hold and innovative hatch cover system – including the unique “hatchcoverless” class notation – ensure maximum flexibility. With her methanol-ready engine concept, she is not only frugal in her fuel consumption but prepared to move towards emission neutral operations, improving our environmental footprint. Still she can steam at 18kn when needed.

And here’s where our clients benefit directly: By choosing MV Elise and the ORCA Class for their projects, clients can gain access to a vessel that not only delivers exceptional performance and flexibility, but also contributes to reducing their own Scope 3 emissions – the indirect emissions from their supply chain. This supports ESG goals and improves overall CO₂ balance. Sustainable shipping is no longer just a responsibility – it’s a strategic advantage. Lower fuel consumption, optimized operations, and reduced emissions translate into cost-efficiency, regulatory compliance, and positive brand impact for our partners.

After proving her performance during sea trials, MV Elise has already embarked on her maiden voyage, transporting tower sections for Siemens Gamesa from Penglai, China to Hull, Uk, before making her much-anticipated first call to Hamburg.

We are immensely grateful to our colleagues in the office and our dedicated team in China, whose hard work and commitment made this milestone possible.

MV Elise is the first of five Orca Class vessels to come – a fleet that will transform heavy lift shipping and significantly reduce the impact of our operations. The handover of MV Elise is not just a delivery, it is the beginning of a new era.

We wish MV Elise and her crew fair winds, safe seas, and many successful voyages ahead.
